Even though I was born in eastern Tennessee and enjoyed my early childhood there, my family moved to Colorado when I was 13. I have loved living in this beautiful state now for over fifty years. I started drawing as a child and have continued to love art all my life.
I am a retired educator (secondary and higher education administration, counseling, and art instruction) and now am free to devote my energies to that of a full time professional artist.
I love to work in pastel or pen & ink. I enjoy creating landscapes of places where I have spent much of my life in the beautiful Colorado mountains, especially the areas of Gunnison, Crested Butte, Lake City, and the San Juans. Portraiture, too, has always been my fascination, having created more than 150 portraits over the past 25 years.
I never stop learning - each day I discover something that I hadn't grasped before. It's exciting to think how much more I will know in another twenty years!
