I am a retired educator, having a BA in Art and Education, a MA in Counseling, and post graduate work in Psychology. Before retiring from a career in Education in 2002 I served as Administrator, Counselor, or Art Instructor in colleges and high schools and as Mental Health Therapist at the Center for Mental Health in Montrose, Colorado.  In addition to serving as Director of Career Services at Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado I taught graduate level art courses on a part time basis at Adams State College Extended Studies in Alamosa, CO and Western State College Summer Institute in Gunnison, CO.  I also taught adult continuing education courses part time at Mesa State College -Montrose Center, Montrose, CO and Aims Community College in Greeley, CO.  My career in Education also included Guidance Counseling in secondary schools. 

After my retirement from Education in 2002 I have devoted my time to my passion of creating art.  I work full time in my studio -and love every minute of it.  In the past 17 years my art has been juried  into  numerous local, regional, state, and national art exhibitions, and have received many awards in the categories of  Drawing or in Pastel.


                     Having earned the status of Signature member of the
                Pastel Society of Colorado 
                       I continue to strive for excellence in my art.


Upcoming in  December, 2019:



HOLIDAY SAMPLER, Chaffee County Fairgrounds,Salida, Colorado Dec. 7, 9am to 4pm.  I will be exhibiting notecards, prints, and framed originals.  Prices $10 to $100.

WINTER ART MART, Salida Steamplant Ballroom, Salida, Colorado, Dec. 14 and 15, 2019 10am to 4pm, featuring artists from SALIDA STUDIO TOUR'. Original art under $200.


Other News:  December  2019

Two of my paintings, "Ancient Pueblos" and "Apples" have been juried into the 2020 Western Spirit National Art Exhibition to be held in Cheyenne, Wyoming, March 7 through April 16, 2020.


I have started a series of "Poppies" paintings and my "POPPIES-3rd in Series" was recently sold at the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center's  Annual Fundraiser "Jewel Ball" in Salida, Colorado.

My  Pastel "POPPIES" (first in my series) has been juried into the 2019 PSC CHROMA International Online  Show, which included 267 entries from the US, Israel, and France.

My Pastel "POPPY ROMANCE" has been juried into the PSC  Small Art Show which will be  held at Mary Williams Fine Art in Boulder, Colorado, Nov 7-20.

My  Oil "POPPY ENCHANTMENT"  sold at my Solo Exhibition at Caldwell Banker Collegiate Peaks Realty in  Salida this summer.


My Pastels "POPPY GARDEN" "OLD COWPOKES,"  and "CACTUS BLOOM" were  exhibited  Sept 26-Oct 24 in the Pikes Peak Pastel Society  Show in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

My "Old  Covered Wagon" has been selected in the  TOP TWENTY FINALISTS among 289 submissions for the Martha's Vineyard Drawing Prize 2019  Competition in Edgartown, Massachusetts.


My Pastel "Evening Sky" is currently   exhibited at Pinon Realty, Salida, CO.


Three of my ink drawings and one pastel  were exhibited at the Central Colorado Conservation  Annual Event in  Salida, Colorado November 7, 2019.



My drawings and paintings have been selected into the Paint America Top 100, the Paint America Top Mini 50, various National exhibitions including but not limited to the Appalachian Pastel Society National in the Bascom Center in Highlands, NC, the Mile High International in Denver, CO,  Empire 100 in Tucson, AZ, Western Spirit in Cheyenne, WY, Wyoming Arts Council National in Cheyenne, WY,  Sagebrush  National of Sheridan, WY, AANC National in Fort Collins, CO, Louisville National of Louisville, CO, Lines into Shapes of Estes Park, CO, National Greeley Art Exhibition, Artist Alpine Holiday in Ouray, CO and  Boulder National in Boulder, CO

In addition to the above mentioned national shows I have exhibited in numerous  local or regional  art shows and in galleries since 1982 in Crested Butte, Gunnison, Grand Lake, Paonia,  Loveland, Longmont, Boulder, Fort Collins, Greeley, Delta, Hotchkiss, Montrose, Windsor, Cheyenne,  Cedaredge, Littleton, Evergreen, Buena Vista, Salida, Greenwood Village, Westcliffe, Estes Park, Denver, Colorado Springs, Canon City,  and Central City - all in Colorado.
